In the computer world, when something is not working the way it should the first troubleshooting tip is to reboot – to turn everything off then restart. Funny how God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. The Bible tells us that the wisdom of man is foolishness with God.
The church was asleep. How long will thou sleep, o sluggard? This is our wake up call. Please note that I am using “OUR” because I am also a part of the church and am not pointing fingers. I’ve learned that when you point a finger, FOUR are pointing back at you.
Friends, it’s no secret that what goes on in a lot of our so called churches is vanity upon vanity. Even the Bible tells us that there shall be perilous times in which men will be lovers of themselves, pleasure, proud, boastful, etc, having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof.
God has called us to be fishers of men but instead we have been keepers of the aquarium. God has called us to go into the world and preach the gospel but instead we have wasted precious times in the four corners of a building having meetings upon meetings hindering God’s people from pursuing their God-giving callings and spending quality time with their families. Many (myself included) have showed off our designer clothes which are all gathering dust at the moment. Many have flaunted their fancy cars which they are not able to drive anywhere at the moment.
At times, God has to use a crisis situation such as a pandemic to reboot/reset/restart His church. If we don’t praise God, He will raise up stones to do so. May we not be replaced in the mighty name of Jesus! The fact remains that God can and will speak through a donkey if instead of saying what He wants, we lay more emphasis on the wrong things (example seed, SEED, and MORE SEED).
People of God, after the lockdown is over, let’s begin to do things differently. We have been able to reach more souls through online church, LET’S NOT TAKE IT AWAY!!! We can have physical church gatherings and still streamline them and for heaven’s sake it shouldn’t be punishable not to come to church. We are the church. We take God everywhere we go. The true children of God have been paying their tithes and offering online. God knows who are His. There’s a difference between the sheep and the goats. It is my earnest prayer that everywhere we may have missed it, God gives us the grace to make the necessary adjustments. Let’s delete the old or corrupt files from our systems. Hear this, friends: THE POTTER WANTS TO PUT US BACK TOGETHER AGAIN.
