LET FOOD BE YOUR MEDICINE!

One day, as I was getting my hair done, in conversation my hairdresser mentioned to me that she has high blood pressure. I asked her if she knew that bananas are very high in potassium and can help regulate blood pressure. She said she wasn’t aware. We both agreed that bananas were very affordable. The next time I went to the store, I got her a bunch of bananas 😊

God says in the Bible “My people perish from lack of knowledge”.  It is a fact that you don’t know what you don’t know! If a person with diabetes, for instance, knew that okra helps regulate blood sugar, I bet they would eat more of it even if they don’t like it. They’ll find ways to prepare it that’s palatable for them. I have made cherries my favorite fruit for good reason. My skin has been much clearer if I do say so myself. In fact, there was a time that I went to get my gele (head tie) tied and the lady asked me to remove my makeup (foundation). She was surprised when I told her I didn’t have any foundation on! 

Since I started eating more pineapples and papaya, my shoulder pain has significantly reduced! I don’t know about anyone else but I’d rather eat food to heal my body than take medicine which brings me to my main point that there are superfoods that we should include in our diets. In fact, our grocery lists should always include the following foods that I plan to write articles on and post on my blog weekly.
