Be The Smile of God

By Margaret Morenike Doherty

John 13:34 Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other (MSG)

Friends, many are confident that they are “standing” because they haven’t killed anyone or stolen or committed adultery but the Bible says that those who think they stand should take heed lest they fall. Friends, it’s the little foxes that spoil the vine for our vines have tender grapes.

Maya Angelou said “People will forget what you said, they will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel”. Success isn’t about how much money we make but about the difference we make in people’s lives.

Eugene Gess said “The way we make people feel is our reputation”. Friends, how we make others feel about themselves say a lot about us. Someone once said that we can’t make someone feel good about themselves until we feel good about ourselves. This brings me to the conclusion that someone who intentionally hurt others have issues deep down.

In Matthew 25, The Bible tells us that a time will come when God will separate the sheep from the goats. Many who think they stand will have a rude awakening when God will tell them they missed it by not showing love, compassion, and kindness to the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, the naked, the sick (read Matthew 25).

I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that we will not miss it! After we have preached to others, we will not be cast aways in the might name of Jesus! When Master Jesus returns in His glory, we will not be among the goats in the mighty name of Jesus!

PRAYER: Father, forgive me for every action of mine that may have caused pain to someone else! On this Christian race, I will not miss it in the mighty name of Jesus! Help me to be your smile to everyone I come in contact with in the mighty name of Jesus!
