Watch With God šŸ‘€

Habakkuk 2:1 – I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

Happy Terrific Tuesday ! Habakkuk made up his mind to stay up one night and watch to see what God would say to him. In the second verse God told him to write down the vision. You’ll be surprised at what God can and will reveal to you if you watch with him!

Beloved, ā€œwatchingā€ is a type of prayer. Jacob watched with God. He said to God ā€œI will not let you go until you bless me!ā€ And as a result God changed his name from Jacob (supplanter) to Israel (prince). The bible tells us that he that keeps Israel never sleeps nor slumbers (Ps. 121:4). Since God never slumbers, then you can stay up one night and watch with him while others are slumbering. Let him know that you are watching with him. I can guarantee you that you will not go empty handed. God will begin to put ideas in your inner man and desires in your heart. The bible says in psalm 37:4 that we should delight ourselves in the Lord and he’ll give us the desires of our heart. As you watch with God, he puts desires in your heart. If after you come out of watching with God and you feel very strongly about something, I’m almost positive that it is from God.

Saints of God, prayer is a two-way affair. It is not just about you going on and on but also a big part of prayer involves LISTENING to what God is saying to you. You need to learn how to tune the antenna of your spirit man to a very high frequency.  After watching with God, He can lead you to a scripture that has your answer. God said in the bible that ā€œmy sheep hear my voiceā€ (John 10:27). Are you God’s sheep? Is He (God) your shepherd? If so, then listen to His voice!

We are to watch and pray so that we don’t enter into temptation (Matt. 26:41). We are to take heed and watch and pray for we do not know when Jesus is coming back (Mk. 13:33). In the book of Matthew Jesus asked his disciples to watch with Him:

Matthew 26:38 – Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and WATCH with me.

But the disciples got bored and fell asleep. Jesus found his disciples (who were supposed to be watching) asleep and this conversation ensued:

Matthew 26:40 – And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not WATCH with me one hour?

Friends, God speaks to his children regularly. If you have never received a revelation, vision or a word from God, you may be sleeping too much. God gives His beloved sleep but how long wilt thou sleep, o sluggard? (Prov. 6:9).

Stand upon your watch and watch what God will say to you. The bible says in the book of Daniel that God shows us secret things. Make yourself available to God. Watch with God if not for an hour, then for a fraction of an hour.

As you watch with God, I pray for you for revelation from God’s throne of grace. God will increase you more and more in Jesus name. You shall know the hope of your calling in Jesus’ name. You shall move forward from glory to glory in Jesus’ name. As you delight yourself in the Lord, every of your heart’s desires will be met in Jesus’ mighty name. Remain blessed in Jesus’ mighty name.
