Lessons From Rudolph ☝️

LESSONS FROM THE LIFE OF RUDOLPH

By Margaret Morenike Doherty-Aka

Friends, compliments of the season!!! ‘Tis indeed the season to be jolly. Jesus is the reason for the season. In the midst of all the Christmas celebrations, jubilations, festivities, and as you go rockin’ around the Christmas tree having a happy holiday, ALWAYS remember that JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!!! Friends, from my family to yours: HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

I love Christmas carols. One of my favorites is “RUDOLPH THE RED NOSE REINDEER”. This one really ministers to my spirit and I’ll tell you why. The words are:

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer had a very shiny nose…And if you ever saw it, you would even say it glows! All of the other reindeers used to laugh and call him names…They never let poor Rudolph play in any reindeer games. Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say:

Rudolph with your nose so bright, won’t you guide my sleigh tonight? Then    all the reindeer loved him! And they shouted out with glee: Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, You’ll go down in history!”

The story of Rudolph the red nosed reindeer reminds me of when blind Bartemeus cried out to Jesus for healing. The people around him told him to stop making noise. He did not listen to these people and cried out the more. He finally caught the attention of Master Jesus, who now sent for him! Friends, at that very moment, the same people who tried to shut him up had a change of attitude towards him and told him “he calleth you…”

Friends, people may have been trying to shut you up but I have great news for you: YOU HAVE CAUGHT THE ATTENTION OF MASTER JESUS!  He calleth you!!!  In fact, he is standing still to attend to your case!!!

Beloved, it was the reproach in the life of Rudolph that caught Santa’s attention and he (Ruldolph) became a joy of many generations! He was celebrated! A book of remembrance was opened unto him! All the reindeers who used to laugh and call him names told him that his name had gone down in history!

I pray for you in the mighty name of Jesus that in EVERY land where you have been put to shame, God will make you an eternal excellency and a joy of MANY generations! You will be celebrated! Wherever you have not had a voice, heaven will speak for you! God will open up a book of remembrance unto you.

Friends, I got another revelation about the life of Rudolph. He had a very shinny nose that glowed. He was different from the other reindeers because of this attribute. Friends, “Different” doesn’t always equate to “negative” or “bad”. All the other reindeers used to laugh and call him names! They wouldn’t let Rudolph join in any reindeer games!  In other words, they excluded Rudolf from their “cliques” because of the way God created him! Let us ask ourselves the following questions:

WAS IT RUDOLPH’S FAULT THAT HE HAD A SHINNY RED NOSE? DO YOU THINK RODOLPH WAS NOT AWARE THAT HE HAD A SHINNY RED NOSE THAT SET HIM APART FROM OTHERS?

Friends, there are many “Rudolphs” in the Body of Christ who do not have shinny red noses. They may not be from your tribe. They may not speak your lingo. They may not be as sociable, outgoing, bubbly, or Type A personalities as you’d like them to be. But guess what? They are just the way God created them!!!

Paul – a great Apostle, had a thorn in his flesh that he wanted God to remove but God told him “My grace is sufficient for you”. My word for all the “Rudolphs” is this:

Godliness with CONTENTMENT is great gain (1st Timothy 6:6)

Be content with the way God created you. You are an original and God’s masterpiece. Do not try to imitate others. Just as Rudolph was SINGLED OUT by Santa and walked upon his high places, you will be SINGLED OUT by your heavenly father and walk upon your high places!!!

Friends, you may have been one of the reindeers who wouldn’t let Rudolph join in any reindeer game. Friends, NOW is the time to accept him with his shiny red nose just as God accepts you with all your imperfections. God’s creations come in different shapes, sizes, mannerisms, and temperaments. Out of all the disciples, Simon Peter was loud and bubbly, others were not like him but they were still chosen and used mightily of God.

Friends, this season of celebration, as we celebrate our Lord and savior (Jesus), let us learn to appreciate one another despite our many differences and idiosyncracies. From my family to yours: HAVE A GREAT WEEK and FELIZ NAVIDAD (MERRY CHRISTMAS) IN ADVANCE!!!
